Default Flat top vs Dish pistons

Given the same compression. Which would you prefer ? I went with dish because of the valve reliefs, but i'm having second doubts if i made the right choice. The are ROSS pistons btw

I don't understand what you're saying, there isn't any way to get the same compression with both a dish and a flat top piston on the same motor. Dished means you have an actual dish or reverse dome which creates a lower CR. Flattop means the only "dish" to the piston is the valve releifs, which gives you higher compression than a dished piston.

I was scratching my head thinking the same thing.

You can get the same compression with both pistons if you increase the piston to deck height. I'm not sure if that is such a good idea though.

are there any problems with carbon buildup on dish pistons? and bump for pros and cons of each

They are based off the height of the piston (at the very edge). You can have deeper reliefs on a 13-1 piston than an 8-1 piston.

Yes you can... get the valve reliefs cut larger and deeper and you will end up with a flat top piston with the same compression ratio as a slightly dished piston with smaller and shallow reliefs.

on that note..then the flat top would seem better as far a quench is concerned..(IMO)
