Default FJO and Hondata problem...

I have a car right now that I cannot connect my FJO wideband through Rom editor no matter what I do. I have checked for continuity in the stock wire harness, and everything seems fine. Is there anything I can check, or do to make this thing work. I know the FJO wideband controller is working, I had tuned a car the day prior. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Have u checked continutiy for the signal wire leaving the fjo controller? Use voltmeter to make sure it's sending voltage to read and take from there. Paul

i have no idea if this would be you problem...but do you have it set up to the right type of output..meaning, click options -> send controller command -> then i guess "PC mode" in your case....inside the fjo software

edit:..err after thinking about it i doubt that has anything to do with it...but ill leave it up in case someone else runs into a fjo problem..when you switch back and forth from pc, pda, or fjo display you have to change this setting

I actually came across this problem and i just went around the car and verified every plug was connected in the cars engine bay. Rebooted the laptop and it worked. If the display still works then check the resistor across the wires on the wideband harness. HTH

I checked for voltage coming out of the FJO black box, and there wasnt any. The controller worked the day before so I know that it does in fact work. I checked over all the connections, and didnt notice anything abnormal at all. I havent had any problems with connecting before to the controller. All the settings in Rom editor are correct, so I am not to sure what is going on. I will be tuning another car tomorrow night so I'll see if it wants to work now or not. I need to purchase the display monitor, I only purchased the wideband kit with the software.

Jeff, if you checked the voltage coming out of the black box and there isnt' any, then there will be no voltage going into the ecu/hondata. SOmething has got to be wrong with the black box or something isn't hooked up right.

this sounds similar to the problem we had with dennis's car at the last dyno day. My wideband had the same problem as yours did. I firmly believe it is a connection problem. I had the same problem in my car a few times as well. After running a wire directly from the fjo controller and tapping it into the o2 sensor wire at the harness and soldering all joints I have not experienced the problem on anyone elses or my own vehicle.
