with the cam, a good tune, and even a 90 MM throttle body and custom intake manifold, it idles at about 900-1000 RPMs.

I run a b1 but also a bisi turbo cam and my next one will be something of his as well... 
Definately suggest his products for the f series. I agree with the above though, definately ditch the stock springs/ retainers.
