Default Crower SOHC Turbo Cam Review? Opinions?

Well, my turbo d16y8 has a crower turbo cam in it, and idles very lumpy, sometimes even stalls out. I have no experience with this cam. Is it worth it? Or should I just put the stock cam back in? Thanks

Did you buy this cam new from Crower? Is the turbo cam supposed to have a lumpy idle? I would think there wouldn't be any overlap causing a lumpy idle on that cam. I had a Crower stage 2 in my Y8 (non turbo cam), and it idled pretty lumpy. I just put the Edelbrock kit on so I ditched the cam. Generally I would say you won't realize the full potential of a cam without having the car dyno tuned. Also, if you don't have an aftermarket ignition system then I would suggest one. That will help the car idle a little smoother and keep it from stalling as much.

If it makes you feel better, I saw a D16Y8 with a Crower cam in it this weekend.

Let's just say it was nasty. The cam hits the head in about four spots, and it totally destroyed the head.

Well I know the cam is not ruining the head, and yes I have an aftermarket ignintion. MSD 6AL, Dist. cap, and coil. I am curious as to whethere the cam is supposed to have a lumpy idle, or is that something wrong

Its lumpy because it has a lot of lift on it. My JG cam is the same way. My car idles fine.
