I'm going to assume you unplugged the burner, restarted the software, and tried again? Did you shut down the computer and start over?

I got the error once with my Burn1 and AT29C256, but after unplugging the burner it worked.

Try saving the file under a different name and upload that instead.

What software are you using to make the chip?

I tried that too. Im so confused on what happened. I changed one thing and now the damn thing wont work. By the way the file will open in crome but wont upload to burn1 so I know it cant be the file.

Size: 32.0 KB (32,854 bytes)

Thats the info I get when I right click and properties

EDIT: Im using CROME to make the map (well I map was made nov 22 of 2006, I just changed the vtec point tonight)

I have noticed that the other file that opens is only 32.0 KB (32,768 bytes). Does that really matter, and why is one map bigger than the other?

If you are using CROME, then just put the settings to burn a AT29C256 chip in Crome and use Crome to burn the chip without using Flash N Burn.

You probably added NOTES to the BIN file, then saved it and tried to burn it with the Flash and Burn software right?

Well I just created a new map then copy/pasted my other values from the f'd up map into my new one. Good news is that it uploaded. I still want to know what made the map larger than normal. Thanks for the response too.

xenocron: Is the man!

What had happened was I must have added notes to my map back in November about what needed to be worked out this spring. I had totally forgotten about them and that is what made the file bigger. Big thanks to xenocron! Hopefully this thread will help somone out in the future. From now on i just burn my maps through crome.

Since you copied your maps over are you sure your advanced tables are still the same?

stop playing hunt and peak with your keyboard and tune the car

i had the similar problem once, just had to change the range for the flash and burn and it worked just fine

2nd time I used crome I kept getting this error too. Somehow it got enabled, and added 1 extra byte. I just wish it had been implamented via seperate a tag-along txt file.

1st time I used crome, car idled like crap. The problem was taking a 240cc stock map (never used), scaling it to 780cc's, then expecting it to run. I had to add a lot more fuel for it to idle, maybe due to latency of peak/hold. I almost wanted to go back to uberdata...

yea basemaps in crome dont work for **** half the time if you just add fuel tools and scale for the injectors you are using. It takes some time to mess with it, but once you do it will idle a lot better than uber.

did you upgrade versions of crome inbetween when you tuned and the small change?

if so...there's your issue. Remember crome is a living code, so when versions change sometimes other little things change as well.
