Default crome pro woes

i've had crome pro for years and pretty much hated it since the begging so i never ended up using it until now, but that is neither here nor there, lol.

but here is the rundown of the setup:

newest version of crome pro
original ostrich
moates hulog
p28 ecu
p72 basemap with datalog added.

got my basemap uploaded through rtp, it works fine. datalog works fine too at this point. if i make any changes and upload a new map, the datalog will stop working. i close and reopen the program, datalogging works again. changing com ports around doesn't help either. (some actually won't even work though i know they were available). i have a chip burner but i haven't tried that route yet (don't really want to either).

anyone else run into this problem?

also tried using a crome gold map, but it won't upload for some reason. it gives me "unknown error". any other map will load fine through the ostrich.

A work around would be to turn on Realtime Updates. That way the changes are uploaded to your Ostrich as you make them. That's what makes it an RTP. You don't have to keep uploading a completely new ROM after each change. RU doesn't interfere with the live tuning (datalog) connection.

same thing happens when i turn on realtime updates. even with rtp ruled out, datalogging is still hit or miss. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Does this only occur after you execute a transfer command, does it cut out at any other time?

Any comm port or USB driver conflicts in device manager?

nothing out of the ordinary in the device manager. i tried multiple com ports and it doesn't affect it.

i'm gonna try uninstalling the devices.

well i figured it out's crome, lol. datalogging works in uberdata and freelog (though uberdata won't read the wideband for some reason)

i once again have given up using crome.

Neptune or eCtune is well worth the money.

the problem has to be with your laptop, no problems for me on a friends setup.
(Crome 1.6.2, Ostrich1, hulog, P06 w/VTEC, P72 base)

make sure you have the latest drivers for the ostrich. (moates.net has them)
