Default Electronic Boost Controller

On H/T I was told the Deltagate sometimes spikes and I should use an EBC. I wanted the Tial but I understand it is not externally controllable like the Deltagate. If I buy the Deltagate, which EBC should I buy?

The avc-r can actually increase or decrease boost spikes in different gears, depending on how you want it to act. It is a powerful ebc.

I'm also curious what to use for my TIAL to control boost.

Manual vs. Electronic, or can I ?

I read a great article awhile back comparing the popular boost controllers on the market... They put them, one at a time, on a test Eclipse and ran a few different boost settings and recorded the creep and the spool time. I was surprised at the results, some of the cheaper and simpler models performed better than the ones that cost $$$... I'll try to dig that article up, has anyone else seen it?

If it is the same magazine I am thinking about, the Greddy Profec B had the lowest spike.

Blade-- do you have any idea how to set the avcr so that is will be consistent.. ours is all over the place with boost. one day 18psi and the next 21.. it changes alot with air temp and weather conditions.

From all the stories I have heard about the deltagate I don't know if I would choose it over the tial. The only difference that i can see is that the deltagate can vary the spring rate with the nut and bolt on top. If you plan on using a boost controller anyway you should just get a tial with a lower pressure spring and use the boost controller to up the boost to whatever you want. Is that what you meant by externally controllable?
