Default Dyno: Eagle/Vitara Y7

Went over to Xenocron's shop today and got tuned. He spent a bunch of time to get the car right, and it feels great now. ******* thing rips. This is my 3rd tune with him. No complaints.

Setup is...

Y7 head stock with Aem gear.
Z6 block with Eagles and Vitaras. 75mm. Hone by yours truly.
Z6 intake mani and TB. No porting at all.
550cc rx7 inj's.
3 inch DP, no exhaust
Holset H1C. Full boost set at 23 psi. Doesnt get there till very late. I call it traction control >
Ebay 12x3x11 core fmic.
Homemade charge pipes. (Probably my limiting factor, 1 very sharp bend on hot side and smallish 2 inch bov pipe)
Anti-Lag building anywhere between 8-13 psi (Flames kick *** Chris ! Thanks)
Holley 255 lph pump.
SSauto exhaust mani, welded a couple times.
38mm WG with small and large spring and a MBC (Thanks Chris)
GM 3 bar map.
90 STD Hatch Gutted and cold inside, no heat.
Pretty sure thats everything thats important.

Say what you want about the #'s. I thought they were low too. But this thing on the street is ridiculous. Breaks tires in 3rd gear on demand and pulls through 4th like my 2nd gear used to haha.

In my defense Chris said my alignment/tires were fighting the rollers on the dyno and losing some power there. The wheels couldnt find a happy place and would pull all around. And I believe it because on the street it feels like more than 280 whp.

Flame away, but I'm very happy with how it feels.

Glad to finally see some numbers out of that thing. Spool is super late. How much power is that H1C rated at?

Dont have the slightest idea.
All I know is it feels faster than anything Ive ever driven.
That might sound funny for a 280 hp car. But its the truth.

Good number considering it is just a stock y7 head.

Yea numbers dont really mean **** as long as the car moves out how it should once its off the rollers. I know your sohcs have always been super fast for what they are so i believe you when u say this one is real nasty

Like I said before, it seemed the alignment was fighting the rollers, because up top from 7500-8400 the car feels insane. I think the dyno is lying a bit up top haha.

I have confidence it will go low 11's without a prob. But low 11's arent my goal Matt >

It might be creeping like a **** up til redline. I tuned a stock(minus delta cam) 400whp sohc f22 not long ago that had peak torque and power still climbing at redline because boost kept on climbing all the way up and would actually hit boost cut right at redline. It made for a real late powerband kind of like this. We will be getting a larger wastegate and redynoing soon and will hopefully gain that midrange torque back if we can get boost to kick in how we want without creep.

Dude this ******* thing didnt creep at all.
Chris was telling me it held boost very steadily.

I need to make 2 new bends on my charge piping that seem to be limiting the setup, and get back to the dyno.

Great looking setup and nice numbers

Great budget setup and I'm sure that thing owns. I have a few buddies with turbo D's and I really don't know if I want a LS or D16 with boost, strictly because of how cheap I can build a D.

Damn weird. Thats nice that its carrying torque pretty high for a stock y7 head then.

Haha Ill be sure to keep an eye on it.

I put the mani in a while back without bracing it. Crack. Welded it. Good. Then the WG flange nearly fell off. Welded it. Good. Still good.

Thanks for the good words dude.

Dude tell me about it, Ive had such bad luck with tickets and points for the past few years. Im sick of it.
Hell I recently just got a ticket for 120 in a 65. Thank God it was out of state. Just pay up and suspended license in that state.

why using an H1C?? why not step down to a HX35?? you'd probably spool a little faster and it'll hold 23lbs all day long...that and the turbo is a lighter than the H1C as well so your ssauto mani would probably like that little less stress hehe.

I too was really surprised how good this car felt on the street...granted it was really cold out and the IAT's were about 20 degrees cooler on the street vs. the dyno...but man, that car ripped.

Post of the video of the flames man!
