Drain Line Issue
hey guys, I've been working on a sohc d16 turbo set up for some time now. However, we've been having nothing but trouble when it comes to the oil drain line. Granted I now know that our drain line was originally too small. However, that doesn't fix the fact that the turbo sits relatively low in comparison to the oil pan, making the angle of the drain line not optimum. My question is: Would it be ok to run the drain line lower in the oil pan to a location below the baffle? the oil pump should always be pulling the oil out of the line if it is below the baffle and if it can keep up with the oil draining out of the turbo I don't see why it would be a problem. Anyways I'm all ears with suggestions on this subject as I'm tired of burning up turbo's due to Oil backing up into the turbo.
Real quickly, I am about to upgrade to a -12 drain line which should fix our problem of too small of a line. I just want to be sure that when i fix it this time it's fixed permanently.

Re: Drain Line Issue
does anybody know the approximate level of oil in the pan? does somebody have a generalized reference picture for me to go off of?

Re: Drain Line Issue
can you not do a 45 degree out of the pan and a 45 degree out of turbo with a short line between? we are having the same issue with a car here at a local shop and that was the solution we agreed on just the other night.
