is there anyway you can buy one of these Kits from Drag or any other company, but not buy their manifold and turbo? these seem to be the only things people "upgrade" or custom? I mean aren't these the pain in the *** peices? Someone should offer a "kit" that includes, pipings, fittings, bov, intercooler and all you have to do is get your custom manifold and turbo and downpipe! I have a b16 drag gen III Ek hatch. And Im looking to sell it and get a crx for daily driving and an eventual b series turbo setup.

the drag kit seems to be working out well for AUSTRIAN TYPE-R, as I'm sure most of H-T will attest to

The Drag 3 kit is a great kit for your first one, itll be easier to install and it comes with all the parts, but if u get into it (boosting) ull end up upgrading a lot of things mainly manifold, wastegate, possibly dp and i/c depending on what ur goals are. I know cause thats what my situation is now, I HAD a Drag 3 kit, now its turned into a custom kit because I want more power. If you go to the next level from the Drag kit, definetly redo the bottom end, and Hondata always helps .

Im only running the drag manifold and I am changin soon but I am able to make almost 500whp with my set up and drag manifold. Im sure I could easily pass 500whp if I was to bump up he injectors to 900 or 1000cc.

I think tha manifld is good as Ive had it for 3 years and NOT 1 problem with the manifold itself. Im still deciding on what new one to get!

Page 3 ownage YO!
I haven't added it up yet but I know i can build a better kit than the drag for less money.
I don't need alot of the parts in the kit, and most what i do need I can find better for either the same kind of money or less. Drag kits are popular and they do produce power, but I'm a cheap bastard and I like having more money to party with, so I'll piece mine together.
FMU, missing link, inline pumps, deltagates and check valves are crap...oh yea doesn't that HKS BOV suck too??
Isn't part of the problem with the drag manifold that the WG is on cyl 3 and not the collector??

yea definately go with your own kit and run like 60-1 turbo or somethin like that and plus you can have a much bigger ic than the drag kit. HKS ssbv is pretty damn good better than the greddy one and im hearin a lot of people are starting to have problems with the blitz ones but still the hks blow-off sounds nuts

I got my maxrev kit for $2300, non prefabbed piping.

Quality much better then the Drag 3 kit I had before.

IC is much better, turbo is Garret , not turbonetics , Tial WG....WG placement is in the collector, not on just a cylinder runner, DP includes flexpipe...etc etc.

I had a DRAG kit for 2 years now in my 93 hatch with a gsr, it fit perfectly never had problems at all, and i can estimate about 260 whp at at 8 psi,,, when i went hondata 2b with 550cc's i got 250 whp at 5 psi, then 283 212 tq at about 9 psi (tuning by boosted hybrid) but i had a piece of fuel line inside my intake mani and my turbo was blowing hard oil,,, so i think the DRAG kit is pretty damn good,,i got a t3/to4e now a tial gate and a skunk2 mani so im hoping for close to 300 to the wheels,,,, but if i was doing everything again would go with the full-race setup!!!!!

i couldnt remember if the drag came with garrett or turbonetics. yet another reason to stay away from it.
SCC did a test on BOV's the Apex'i was the best. The DSM and Bosch were also good performers.

where are you getting your information from? if you read the sport compact car from several months ago, they tested several different BOV's. the HKS SSBOV was the WORST performer of them all. the top BOV's were apexi, greddy, and blitz.

thanks I didn't want to unpack all my old issues to dig it up. I knew someone would remember.

i gotta tell you...
i debated about a custom kit, full race (would have been my first choice if Geoff had a reliable incarnation of an AC retaining setup for the H22).

I landed up going with Drag gen 4 and had a couple custom additions to the kit.

Overall, for the price and lack of headache of not having to cut and weld charge pipes, i am impressed with the setup.

I'll post pics soon.

I recommend you Jet coat the manifold, turbo housing and DP if you go this way.

It turned out to be one of the cleanest turbo installs on a Honda if you take your time with it.
