it lower oil temp siginificantly if used properly (which can be associated with good engine conditions) but you will never really reap any major tangable results from this... nothing thats not going to be debateable, besides the temp. reduction in oil.

it takes extra oil pressure to push the oil thru the cooler.

I'm run around 6-10 psi at idle after driving HARD,
and on the highway criuse, I'm always around 60psi.

In fact, whether it'd be a 35mph cruise, or a 70mph cruise, oil pressure is at 60-70.

By any chance did you bottom out your car and dent the bottom of the oil pan?
If not, sometimes a highly restrictive cooler can hurt oil pressure quite a bit. I would try bypassing the cooler and see what it does to your pressure. Let us know if you try that. It would be interesting to see.

Oil cooler are just like intercoolers... Some flow REALLY well, but don't cool that well... Some flow poorly, but cool really well...
Flow vs cooling
line and tube size vs size on core.

An oil cooler between your motor and your turbo isn't going to do anything but extend the life of your turbo, and it reduces oil presure going to your turbo.
If you have a $200 used turbo, then I wouldn't use on unless you have a problem with oil "blowing by" the seals in the turbo..
IF you have a $1000 ball-bearing turbo, I'd get a cooler...

The oil cooler kits that are used between the oil filter and filter neck are too expensive for me..
$300 oil cooler, or get another $300 motor... The D is cheap...
I'd get an oil cooler for a $5000 ITR motor...

I would NEVER put an oil cooler inline with my turbo. I dident even know thay made one for that small of a line?? The B&M Cooler I have cost me 120$ and also relocated my oil filter I havent seen any big loses in oil preasure here but im shure the pump is working hard...HeHe

Putting a cooler on is NOT the proper way to drop oil pressure to your turbo. It effects the pressure to the whole engine.

I think if your not satying at 5-7k rpm over an extended period of time, i think it's not needed. Otherwise it's just another place where you will be concerned about oil leaks. That's just what i think tho.
