Depends on the manifold and some other things, if it is a premade kit chances are they've already done the majority of the things to make sure it would work. Be sure to ask any of the dealers though before actually buying it, I think the drags you may have to cut though, don't know about the others.

you have to grind about 1" square out of the webbing around the block. not too major, just get a good grinder wheel, doesnt take long.

If you use a Drag 3 with a TO4B you will not have to cut the block. Its the TO4E compressor that will hit it because its really big.

Re: Does the Drag 3 Kit required block cutting? (Arturbo)
Since I'm new to turbo, does the size of the compressor make a power difference? Which is a better choice for more power?

the T04e is really big, and will make really big power.....most likely more than you will ever be able to use. im sure ill never even come close to maxing out this turbo.

my drag manifold was angled, so i didn't have to notch any of the webbing off. This is a drag 3 on an LS

That is correct becaue the Drag 3 for the Civic Si and Ls come with a TO4B compressor housing. Now, since you have a ITR and you do not want to shave the block webbing, then you can order a to4b with the kit.

Re: Does the Drag 3 Kit required block cutting? (Arturbo)
get a 3/8" drill bit and a electrical drill, I cut about 1" off the block and still have about 1/3" clearance between the compressor housing and the block...
then use a smaller bit to cut the sharp edges left by the bigger bit
it only took me about 15-20 minutes to get it done, afterwards use a grind to smooth the edges out...
no biggie...

i just helped my friend install a custom kit on his b16a. We had to modify the block a little. We did all the work ourselfs..took about an hour or so.

I've heard some people say they didn't need to do it. It's not that big of a deal, not like you're messing w/ the internal or anything.

Re: Does the Drag 3 Kit required block cutting? (jamal-188)
Like Ben said, it all depends on how you position the housings. When I first installed the kit, I didn't need to modify the block. When I built the motor 2 years later, I decided to turn the compressor a tad CCW. After I finished the install and cranked it, I noticed the shaft in the turbo was stuck! So I cut the block with a small hand saw with the turbo still in tact.
