Default Do i need to rebuild my motor to run a turbo?

Hey guys Im about to buy This motor for my civic. http://hmotorsonline.com/shop/...30005I think it said that there is 30,000 miles. Any way Im going to put a greddy turbo kit on it but do i really need to rebuild it first or will i be fine with stock internals and the turbo will it be speedy enough just looking for some info thanks!

with a greddy kit (IMO) you will be fine with the greddy kit, just dont expect any crazy power numbers. some ppl pushing over 10psi have done pistons and rods to be safe, but with good tuning i dont feel that its required

You dont have to rebuild to run turbo. If you want some high horsepower I would recommend it

you could hit 300 on stock internals, no build...maybe more on a good tune...

you will have no problem getting those numbers out of a stock motor.

definately blow the motor first before you rebuild it...

here's some hints... keep a close eye on the gauges. turn yourself into a paranoid freak! well, that happens natrally when you become a boosthead have something that saves peak boost like on a turbo timer, not just the analog boost gauge.

I blew my stock motor because of boost spikes that I didn't see from the gauge, I found +14psi (it was tuned for 10psi) saved on my turbo timer but it was too late.

Greddy (and most others) don't come with electronic boost controllers or gauges for that matter. You gotta get them on top of the kit. I've got and AEM Wideband A/F (most important to me), And Defi EGT, Oil pressure and Oil Temp.

I'm pushing 295 WHP on a GReddy kit (B18C5). See link in sig. It spools really quick, great torque, but won't push the really high power of some of the other kits (fine by me!)
