what is the port on the side of the turbo for? i've tried to search and find out if i need it...
is it important? because right now i have nothing in that hole on the side of the turbo, i took the fitting out

How bout using that hole instead? Wouldn't the readings be a little more accurate since it's coming right from the compressor? Straight line to the WG.

you will notice a diffrence between locations i did. felt like a quicker spool and i ended up boosting more. (because of ic pressure drop)

Actually, boost measured from the manifold will take into account the pressure drop due to the intercooler, which should mean your wastegate can stay closed a little bit longer. There is a benefit to reading boost off the compressor as well but I forget.

DO NOT leave this port open!! You will bleed boost and posably over rev your turbo.
The teflon tape on your oil fitting will burn up, and can make it's way into your bearing.. You have to get it out of there..
