DIY Intercooler piping :What to buy
I know you are supposed to get 3 180's and 1 straight and maybe a 90. Can some one tell me what pieces I will need to buy to make the piping for an EK. Which radius and length do I get for the 180's? They have 4 and 6 inch radius as well as 12 and 24 in lengths for the 180's. Thanks in advance.

Get the J bends if you can, then you got one long side and one short side so you can usually get by without buying any straight pieces. The tighter radius the better I feel, you can always add a straight piece to make it a wider radius. I never bother with the 90°'s because for a few extra dollars you can get two out of a j bend.
I've always used summit and got these because it's like 5 minutes from my house and they are good quality!

I'd like to believe that the difference from a 4" radius to a 5" radius wouldn't be too drastic. I doubt that it would affect anything when we're talking mandrel bent, not crushed bent, piping.

I got 4 u bends for mine.. I have not built it yet so I might have some extra. I figured I would need a ubend off the turbo to the cooler.. a ubend from the cooler to engine bay.. a 90 up a 90 towards the firewall and a 90 into the TB. Thats like 3.5 u bends.. I am sure you will find a use for that other 90 sometime and for the minimal extra cost of the ubend I would get it. Also if by some chance you fubar one of the your bends you have a spare.

I went to http://www.schoenfeldheaders.c...s.htm . Check out their "miscillaneous" bends. For $130 we got enough bends to plumb 4 complete fmic equipped hondas, with some left over afterwards. The random bend radius's came in very handy, and we were impressed with the quality of the tubing. What really floored us though was the quantity of bends we got for $130. Lemme tell ya, it's a huge box. We didn't realize the quantity would be so huge. Several of the tubes have more than one bend on them too, so every foot is useful. If you can find someone to go in with ( or 3 someone's) there is no better deal that I've found for mandrel bends.

That site has great prices! Do they have 2.5"? I really wanted to run 2.5" but those prices are crazy!

>>Do they have 2.5"?<<
Good question. The biggest I see is 2.25". I used 2.125" because I wanted reduced lag (autox car), and I'm not looking for more than about 230 whp max. Same goes for the other cars we plumbed. Although, one of them did run a 13.1 @ 6.5 psi on drag radials and nearly full interior.
Another thing to keep in mind. These aren't stainless bends, but a $5 can of paint solved the potential rust problem.
