Default Decided to go BOOST need help!!

So after years of all-motor i've decided to try something different and is in the process of looking for a nice turbo kit. My car is a 94 civic hatchback with a GSR motor in it. So i have a few questions to ask all u turbo guys, i've narrow my choices down to 2 turbo kits. The DRAG gen 3 and the Full Race. Only problem is the Drag is cheaper by a lot so im thinking of getting that kit instead. Anyone running this kit? good/no? My second question is can i run the ctr camshaft along with the turbo? Or will it be too aggressive? And what's some nice pistons/rods? Keep in mind im not planning on going all out it's going to be my daily driver so im looking to boost only around 6-7psi maybe or where ever it's safe. Any comments will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

a drag kit and a full race kit are two kits that are on complete opposite ends of the spectrum. the drag kit can be classified as a beginners kit, the FR is for people who want to make well over 400hp with ease. yes CTR cams will work great with cam gears. when you say 6-7psi exactly how much power are you talking about. because you may not to get rods and pistons if you plan on making less than 250whp.

okay so by saying the drag is more of a beginners kit i think i'll choose that kit instead. Im not sure how much i can boost on basically a stock daily driven motor so i was just guessing 6-7? maybe even a lil more?

Do your self a favor. Don't use the deltagate, fmu, or inline fuel pump that comes with the generic kits.

Look into bigger injectors such as rc 550s, a walbro 255lph (NON HP model) & a chipped ecu so you can have it tuned using uberdata, crome, hondata etc.

Good Luck

so im looking through the force induction classifieds and for the drag kit u can choose from different turbo's. Im wondering which one to get? I want one that will spool fast enough for my gsr motor and still be able to produce decent amount of hp.

I agree-
at LEAST 310 injectors

THROW THE F'IN INLINE PUMP OUT< they are garbage.

FMU is decent up to 8-10 psi, but dont go more. (thats where the chipped ecu and tuning come in and save the day)

I also like the Drag cast iron exh manifold for daily duty since its beefier, but the full race is better for power.

did some more searching and just found another kit by peakboost which actually looks pretty good. It comes with the t3/to4e turbo. Is that comparable to the t3/t4 from turbonetics that Drag offer in their kit? I've narrow it down to DRAG or Peakboost but im leaning towards peakboost. Any suggestions?

build your own kit. it will be cheaper and you can do it just to your needs.

how many pounds can i boost if i plan on using my stock gsr pistons and rods for now? A friend of mine told me that i don't have to buy new pistons/rods if i plan on boosting low. So how low? 6,7,8 psi?

pistons and rods aren't affected by psi (directly) they are more influenced by the power the engine is being forced to create. 10 psi on a very small turbo may only produce 250 hp. no prob for stock rods. A large turbo may produce 350 hp on 7 lbs (not usually but bare with me) that would be a need to step up the rods. You can usually go up to 275-300 on stock rods and not worry too much (for b-series).
