If your using the stock pistons you want the 81mm.If you want to use aftermarket bigger piston (which you will need to make 575 hp) go with the 84mm.I wouldn't have a local shop do the sleeving, unless they have experience doing them before.

Yep. There is precision machine work involved in sleeving a Honda engine. Fork out the extra bucks and go with a company that specialized in sleeving.

Call up benson, for sleeves, or AEBS, either way it's going to run you around $900-$1000, with shipping to have someone do it right. Goodluck

Remember, sleeves don't come in sizes. They are installed in a raw form and then bores/honed to what ever size you choose. You do not have to order them in a particular size first.

Then why are there different part numbers for different sizes?

Timing from the song playing on itunes it took me a WHOPPING 22 seconds to open a new window, type in ERL performance, and get their contact info. Doing things on your own is a bitch, isn't it?

Darton MID's do. Imagine being a machine shop owner and having to bore a 81mm sleeve to 86mm for all motor apps. Having the different sizes puts a lot less wear on the machine shop boring equipment and makes them not curse out loud to darton that they should have more sizes

Also if you are interested in ERL sleeves, we are an authorized dealer and one of the largest You need to go through a dealer, but if you would like information from the horses mouth then give Sean a call and he will recommend a dealer to you

Check out http://www.av-engineered.com There are a good amount of pictures in our customers build sections as well.

We also go through darton/erl for all of our block sleeving.

These are not to the exact size. They still must be honed to your exact piston to wall clearance requirements.

Most good C n C machines just laugh at going from 81mm to 86mm. Easy for the right machine to do that in 3 passes or so.

Yeah, but does every machine shop have the machines that ERL or Benson or GEM have? Nope. Thats the thing, any "knowledgable" machine shop can install the sleeves (gulp ) with machines that may not be able to handle the load these others can. Just makes it easier on the little guys.
