d16z6 oil pan on sohc non vtec zc(d16a6)
i just blew the rings on my z6, but i have a sohc nonvtec zc short block going in. can i just reuse my tapped z6 pan without using the z6 pickup?

Most of the sohc oil pans fit on any of the sohc motors. Sometimes you might need a little more hondabond around the edges...you should be ok.
Just make sure the dip stick is in the same place on both engines, if its to the side like the d16y7/y8 you'll have to drill a hole in the bottom of the pan so the dig stick works.

Y7/Y8 blocks have totally different oil pans. The main difference between the A6/Z6 pan is the exhaust pipe space and oil pickup. You get less with the A6, but can probably use the A6 oil pickup to make it work. I wouldn't suggest it though.
Its all of $20-50 to get a bung welded on, or $15+time to drill 3 holes to use an oil outlet flange for a garrett turbo. I made one for $2, half an NPT coupler welded to steel plate, then drilled the 3 holes & sealed with silicone. As long as you didn't j-b weld/hack your Z6 oil return, you can sell that pan for more than what you pay someone to weld a new fitting on.
