Default D16 Turbo....what oil pump to run.

I need to know if I should run a higher flow, aftermarket oil pump or an OEM one will be sufficient in my D16Z6. I am looking for 325-400hp. Built, T3 Super 60 powered.

Thanks.

Most stock pumps operating correctly should be fine. At WOT and cold my y7 pump will flow 95 psi.

Sleeved .30 over should be ok to power the massive snail?

Anyways, OEM pump should be ok? Maybe buy a new one from Honda?

it's not the power the pump cant handle it's the rev's

how high are you giong to reve the motor

the stock d16 pumps have problems over 8500 or so..

something to do with the way it spins. you can bore out the oil passage for a little bit more....

platinum..

I doubt I will ever go that high. Even with Zex cam and Comp Cams springs/retainers.

Endyne does nice work.

But is it worth it on a street car. Yeah, I am looking for high numbers, but nothing too extreme.

When inspecting your oil pump make sure its within specs when you build

Inner to outter rotor clearance
.001-.006
Rotor to pump body radial clearance
.004-.007
Rotor to pump body side clearance
.001-.003

Stock oil pump here!
