d16 build for boost
Ok so im currently doing a sohc boosted setup. ive been doing alot of reading on a couple different setups, so far i see alot of people do the vitara piston setup which i so far really am aiming at (everyone at work makes fun of me for wanting to put these pistons in a honda, so im really trying to prove these jerk-offs wrong). anyway i picked up an ek from my buddy who was running a sohc vtec turbo fully built and something went wrong and he blew is pistons and he thought he cracked his rods, so i just planned on throwing another y8 motor in stock with the turbo kit and boost like 8 to 10lbs just bc this is my daily driver. i took apart his motor and found that his brand new crower rods were not damaged at all and the block is fine. so since this happened i decided to put some nice pistons in and buy a head so i can have a little more fun. the questions i have for h-t...
- could i use the vitara pistons in the y8 block with a jdm 1.5 head and if so will my c.r still be in the 7.8 : 1 area or will it go up (which is what i want )
- does milling the head raise or lower c.r
- which is the best head to use for this setup
im not using a huge turbo on this setup, its a 14b out of a dsm. i have a car im building for the track already so this is as budget build as it gets. any info on this build from you guys would be much appreciated and help alot. thank you very much.
