Default crv-vtec head

i might be picking up a gsr head from someone but has already converted it for the b20 will it make a difference if i use it on a gsr block. its a gsr head i would be getting.also if the chambers were changed to 84mm its going to lower my compression correct i was planning on going with a 9-1 ratio will i have to do anything special?

question is will the conversion affect anything?

its for a turbo block thats why i posted here

You have to unplug the hole at the bottom of the head that was plugged up for the LS/vtec (CRV-vtec) and plug the feed line that was added to feed the head from the LS/CRV block.

You actually can machine the chambers to match the bore. I'm not to sure on this question. You can run bigger bore without matching the camber but I've never tried running a bigger chamber with smaller bore...

its not so much i want to run the bigger chamber its just that the head might already have this done to it so im not sure exactly what will work

its better to get a sandwich fitting that goes between the oil filter and block that way you get filtered oil

Its possible they deshrouded (word?) the areas around the valves given 3mm more room to play with. I doubt they'd increase the 'bore' (cc) of the chamber itself, since the gsr head has the flat quench areas.

If nothing else, you'd get a slight flow issue if the air has to come in and smack into the 1.5mm of sleeve. In a very high hp setup, you may also get pockets of unburnt mixture, or fuel puddling at that spot. Best bet is to fit a 81mm cutout over the chamber, and see if anything goes outside of the 81mm diameter.

You can use the same line to feed turbo and to activate the vtec but I like to run a bigger line for the vtec because it not only used to activate the vtec... the line is the only source of oil for the head. So you want to make sure you get enough oil volume to the head. I would use a (-6) line to feed the head and a (-4) line to feed the turbo

Most people don't change the chamber size to match the block when they run bigger bores...so it might not of been done, can you just ask the person who you are buying the head from if that was done?
