ouch...hows the pistons? you can probably find another b16 bare block for like less than 100 dollars and just use your pistons, rods and crank in the other block...or you could resleeve that block...hmm, looks like that was caused by the blockguard, so i hope u learned your lesson.

I got to get one piston cos the others are fine but I didn't know blockguards could do that.

Do you have a better pix of the piston? There appears to be detonation damage on it, from the little bit of it we could see.

no no...block guard was installed. That means it did it..............what???? This makes no sense. I agree w/ BigMoose...may be detonation damage. Grab another block and do the block guard again, but have it sank lower and get better fuel/timing...should be good.

When you got your BG installed did you take it to the machine shop to check for straightness??

How many lbs were u boosting???

Some how it looks like the piston broke pretty bad, what was the cause of this meltdown??

There are so many Opinions on this so IMO if it's done right then No.

Honda blocks are poured around the stock liners - not a press fit item.

If you look closely there was some serious detonation. The pistons are missing chunks out of it.

Heads fine... even the plug looks good still.

there are people that can do it but it's just finding someone that can do it at the right price.
Would you pay £850 just for install!!! that not including the sleeves.

I don't think it was the block gaurd that caused this problem. Motor went lean and to much timing.

Thanks for the pix. Clearly a very unhappy event going on in the combustion chamber when the boost met the juice... It looks like you are getting a handle on it, however.
