the seals in your turbo. You need to replace them and put a pressure reducer in your feed line.
*I was thinking downpipe...would that be the same diagnosis?*

external wastegate? What kind of manifold? I have trouble visioning how oil is traveling up against the exhaust flow and out your wastegate. (assuming it's mounted on the manifold before the turbo...

if there is oil in your dumptube your motor should be smoking. the same exhaust gas that passes thru the dumptube passes thru your exhaust also. it is extremely hard to diagnose the source tho with the provided info

Re: (99B16Si)
is not youre feed or any lines for that matter if its coming out of your wastegate. its not the turbo seals either, like stated before it must be comming out of your engine, maybe valve seals or something.

it could be the oil rings as well couldn't it? Cyphear's car is blowing smoke out the exhaust and thats the only thing we can figure out. (Note: Car ran fine before, then blew motor. Changed bottom ends and now smokes.)

Kidding? That much pressure inside the turbo and it will be leaking oil like a seive. The point is to make the feed constrictive enough and the drain line large enough so that there is almost no oil pressure inside the turbo.

take off your exhaust mani and let the engine run see if oil sputters out the exhaust. But plug up your feed line. If nothing then work your way towards the other conponents.

You won't hurt anything but your ears.
The myth that running open header or without an exhaust can fry exhaust valves was only true in older engines with sodium-filled valves.
