Commuting???
do any of you guys with turbos commute? i am getting ready to install a turbo onto my B16A2, but i am nervous because i will be commuting anywhere from 1 to 1 and a 1/2 hours Monday thru Friday. i plan on running low boost of course...
I commute every day in my CRX. It's not turbo yet, but the engine is built and ready to go. I had to pull most of the stuff off because I had to smog it.
The only thing I'd toss in is to get a clutch that has smooth engagement. I have an Action 1MS and although I like the clutch, it's a little too grabby for my tastes in stop and go traffic. I wish I had gone with the kevlar disk.

I commute about 80 miles a day on my teg. Only running 6 lbs for now. But I will still be commuting with it when I get it fully built and running 10-12. On 6 lbs i get just as good of gas milage that I got on my I/H/E GSR. Never had a problem with overheating.

I run my turbo hatch every day, and have no problems except for the occasional fouled spark plugs(i keep a extra set in the glove box). Gas mileage is bearable, and the stop and go traffic sucks on my clutch leg!!!!!! Oh yeah i boost 15lbs daily, no prob. most of the time its not even in boost. peace.
I drive mine about 50 miles round trip to work. Also take weekend trips 300 miles round trip to tracks and even took it on vacation 800 miles one way to Florida without one problem.
In my last hatch the one that got stolen I drove mine 94 miles each way to work so about 188 miles a day 5 days a week. Then I drove it on the weekends also and beat on it. I did this for almost a year. I never had any problems except for it getting stolen and never found.
I average around 40,000 miles per year on my car. I am going to be boosted within the month [hopefully]. So far I haven't had any major issues with my car, but I know boosting will stress the motor more than NA. I will be running stock block for about a year, until I can afford the build.

Ack... that's not what I want to hear. I just ordered that clutch for my accord. Oh well, we'll see how that goes... I commute with my motorcycle the majority of the time anyway.
