Default Clocked Turbo, Now Shaft Play?!?

I have a Precision SC34 that is practically brand new. Before clocknig the turbo, there was no shaft play. I loosen all the botls on the compressor housing all the way out and was about to clock it then remembred reading on HT froms oem guy saying not to fully remove the botls only to slightly loosen because doing so may cause play from the blades. So I put the botls back on with the plates and tightened them figner tight on all. then clocked the compressor in the way I wanted to. snugged up the bolts and now there is some side to side play!!! When spinning it and pushing it to make the side play happen, I can make it so that it rubs on the sidewall and I can feel it drag on it quite a bit. I put a bit of oil threw it and spun it a buncha times and there is still the same play and rubbage. I can see where it rubs when it does. I do have to put a bit of pressure to crate the play, but I do ahve to put even more pressure to make it rub. wtf happened?!?

I had the same problem, what I did was just tighten the bolts all the way this should bring it all back together. Worked for me atleast

Try clocking it back to the original position and see if you still have the shaft play.

On another note, how many BC bastards are on this site?!

Damm Tommy sorry to hear that. Yes I have clocked that turbo before, but I always just loosen them to the point where I can clock the turbo. I've never taken the bolts out all the way...

Maybe it just needs to be rebalanced or something... Call Precision, and ask them what you should do.
