Default shaft play

After running my turbo for a while I noticed I had a leak on my oil feed line. I took my turbo off and started inspecting it to make sure everything is ok. While checking the shaft I felt no movement back and forth, but if I applied a fair amout of pressure side to side it would slightly rub on the side. Im not sure if this is normal so I just wanted to make sure it was alright
thanks

although some shaft play is normal in non-bb turbos, if it was full of oil then there should not be much play.

Additionally there should NEVER be anough play for the fins to contact the housing

well since on my turbo there is enough play to rub the side with a certain amount of pressure, what could be the problem?

ive never rebuilt a turbo- and it might not be the seals, but if u see oil leakin then its almost 100% the seals.

Im pretty sure u need to buy a rebuild kit or send teh turbo off somewhere to get rebuilt. Its not just simple seals its pretty technical, clearances, balancing the wheels, etc.
