Default cleaning the inside of an intercooler

hello-

hopefully an easy question - how does one clean the inside of an intercooler? Specifically the end tanks; a spider made several small cocoons inside.

I was thinking of pouring some gas in one of the end tanks and letting it drip down. Also, a shop vac maybe?

Thanks

Seb

A spider web is nothing to worry about. But if you want to clean it, go to Home Depot and get some odorless mineral spirits and use that to clean it. Once you have cleaned it out use hot water to flush the mineral spirits out.

The mineral spirits are water soluble so when you are done it will not have an oily film.

I like the mineral spirits, I think I may even have some already

bolt it on and let em cook j/k

i used to fill the IC up with degreaser/hot water by capping both ends, give it a good shaking then use a higher pressure hose to rinse it out. This is for oil tho, never had to deal with arachnids goodluck

I had to clean my intercooler on my last setup. My compressor seal took a **** and filled up the FMIC with oil.

I just hosed out the oil, then brought it in the house and washed it in the bathtub with soap and warm water.

Worked fine for me.

If you just have some spider webs in there, you could just blow it out with some compressed air and call it a day.
