Yeah I wouldnt have painted the IC piping and BOV like that. It looks like it was in a car fire.
I hope you used some sort of very very high temp stuff on the manifold. Anything that can be bought at an auto parts store will flake off in a very short amount of time.

has anyone actually found a spray paint that will hold up? I know there are different coatings that will, but thats sorta expensive.

i have never found a spray paint that will hold up. but on my dad's 400 small block, for the headers we bought some black super high temp paint from summit racing. for a can about half the size of a coke can it was like 30$ or something, but you had to paint it on then within 24 hours you had to heat it up on the car and bake it on there, wasnt spray paint. hope that helps.

Check at some Hotrod shops in your town. I bought some VHT 1500 degree black paint to do my manifold and downpipe with and its held up for a year and a half. 1200 degree will flake away and look horrible after a couple of hours. Trust me, find some 1500 degree and do it right while you have it all uninstalled.

The pep boys near us carries 1500º paint, its made by the company "dupli-color". I used some of this on my turbo manifold and its held up quite nicely. Just make sure to use atleast 2 coats.
It holds up nicely to heat, but its not very scratch resistant.
