Default choosing piston compression for more torque

i'm looking into buying a set of pistons for my ls turbo. what I wanted to know is, would it make a difference in torque at the same horsepower between 9:1 compression ratio versus a 8:1 copmression ratio? would one have more torque than the other or will it be the same? or if someone could post a link to some good info, that would be cool

9:1 is going to make more power throughout the RPM range. I used to be a fan of low compression but after driving my car which is spineless out of boost I think the next time I built a motor I would go at least 9.5:1

You can really notice the difference between 9:1 and 9.5:1 on the street, too

so is this at the same horsepower level?

With all things the same compression won't move your torque...just the rod angle.

The underlined/italics were trying to convey my sarcasm

I've had a 9:1, 9.3:1, 9.5:1, and 10:1 turbo setup, and the spool and off boost power was basically the same across the board, given the same bore size.

Stick with a 9:1 SCR, and focus more on the right turbocharger and cylinder head components to make the most torque. An LS @ 11:1 compression with a VictorX intake and a T3/T67 is obviously going to get shitkicked in the mid range compared to an 8:1 compression motor with a skunk2 intake and a .48 A/R SC34.

Ideally it will increase your torque across the board...and unless you turn down the boost or decrease your redline, the horsepower will increase, too.
