Re: piston compression (jdm2teg)
9.1 compression works. There really isnt like some set compression that turbo motors have to be. I mean there is always those people that run 8.0-1 compression and just push more boost to make up for it. And i have seen some people build 10.5-1 motors for boost. Higher compression will be to blame for detonation possibly but it will take less bost to make the power.
9.1 compresson seems to be a great number for boosted cars.
As i write this i have some 9.1's on order.

Maybe a pound and a half to pull even with a 10:1 car, if that.

no its just that he runs a huge turbo....like most of us, so a pound and a half is goof for alot of power

My motor is is being built as we speak, but it is probably about a 1lb to make a differnece..if any on my setup. seeing that I have a full 3 inch exhuast, CTR cams,jg intake and should be able to run aggressive timing most peoples skin crawl when they think of c/r as low as my 7.8:1 but its not that big of a deal plus the turbo is a sc61 which is still a huge turbo in real life, just not so big on the internet anymore.

Ask yourself what you have to gain going up a point in compression.

The feeling of getting some bad gas and blowing your motor. Thats what i usually think about
