wastegate is closed(internal) plugged up exhaust leaks..only exhaust leak i have right now is downpipe to turbo..anyone got any ideas??turbo spools..but doesnt actually boost past 1psi

it's got to be loose charge pipe. You've checked all of your connections? does it run fine otherwise?.....

 

well igotboost now..hooked up boost controller and i got 5psi in 1st and/or second..but after that it wont go past 3...any idea why?

 

whats your set-up? engine turbo, etc...

check the wg. I had the same turbo on my car and i went through 4 wastegates (all gave different boost levels)....i had to use a boost controller on my original one to get more then 4psi, one my friend gave me ran at 6psi w/out boost controller they were all within a psi or 2 of eachother....
sounds like the wg isn't closing all the way or opening to soon

 

I had problems losing pressure with my bov before, might want to check that and it's vacuum source, and the vacuum source for the wastegate. Did you get that exhaust leak taken care of yet?

i was thinking about the bov also..how do i check ifits opening earlyand letting out pressure? i have a turbo xs rfl

 

try taking the screen off for the intake, i had too much screen on and had the same prob.

 

i vote vacuum leak / loose charge pipe.

 

its not the screen..car hits 5psi in 1st and 2nd gear...but only 3psi in 3rd and forth and stops pulling...should i use vac source for boost controller thats right before wastegate off the fpr line??and where should I put it..i have my bov and boost gauge teed off that line already..should i put it after gauge but before BOV?

 

oh and does anyone know to tell if i need more washers in my BOV or not??i havent put or taken any out from the rfl in its stock form..
