Car made Really wierd noise today.
It was a loud ticking. I heard it after leaving my house, and immideatly pulled over and turned off the car. I looked and nothing appeared to be hitting anything like accessory belts, etc. Oil was good. I turned the car on again, and the ticking was back. It was a really LOUD ticking, not injector tick. I drove it home, and parked outside. Ticking speed seemed to increase with speed. I revved it up to about 4000 a couple times and then the ticking stopped???
My ideas what it was.
Starter hanging up?
Tranny low on fluid?
It can't be I hope....rod bearing?

Guess it may be time to get an oil pressure guage. Anyone know a place to tap one besides the stock location?

You could tap it right off the Oil Pump itself...i think Pro-Drive makes such a fitting to screw into the pump,if they dont, somebody does cause i saw it,I'm just not 100% sure i got the right vender

Valve tap...? Use a screwdriver against your ear (like a stethoscope, or an actual stethoscope if you have one) to localize the sound.

I think it is the starter hitting the flywheel. I am going to open up the inspection plate today.
