car doesnt boost anymore
this is on my eclipse, not my R,
i just got my car back from the alarm shop, they said they had to take some stuff out the engine and put it back on to get the 2 sirens in. Anyway, they hooked something up wrong because my car doesnt boost now, It boost gauge goes up from vacuum to about 1 or 2 psi then then it stop boosting and it sounds like a big BOV (but not quite a BOV sound), and the car stops accelerating (kinda like pegging the rev limiter). Anyone know what it could be?

Re: car doesnt boost anymore (FusionITR)
No offense but why the **** did they touch anything in the engine without letting you know first...... Anyhow why don't you ask them what they had to move? And just be sure to check turbo piping but I till can't see where an alarm install would interfere with anything having to do with the turbo besides the oil supply line and there is no reason they have to touch that. Good luck man and again definitely ask those guys who did the install what had to be removed and that should isolate your area of the problem.

Re: car doesnt boost anymore (boost killz)
i dont know why they moved stuff in the engine without asking me first, but no use thinking about that because they already did, but they told me they had to remove my air intake to fit the sirens in. Im thinking they put some tubbing on wrong on my intake (HKS). What do u think?

Re: car doesnt boost anymore (FusionITR)
Fusion you referring to the intake filter leading to the turbo inlet??? or to the throttle body? I would check for any fitment issue on the charge pipe to the throttle body and tighten the coupler there a bit if it feels loose, because there shouldn't be any problem wih boost as far as your ar filter goes. Let me know man..Peace,

Fusion just remember the air filter and te rubber piping, not sure if you upgraded should lead to the turbo inlet, the other piping you are referrng to should be running to the IC in the fender. Hope this helps any man.. I know just a little bout dsm's ...bee a while since I seen there setup..

There are soooo many vaccum lines on a stock turbo DSM engine. The shop could have easily connected a line wrong somewhere. Probably want to look closely at the ones that go to your BOV and wastgate.

Re: car doesnt boost anymore (HXMan)
Oh yea...I can't remember exactly where, but on my friends TSI AWD there is a vaccum hose diagram on either the hood or front frame.
My friends car had vaccum lines hooked up wrong when he first bought it. We were messing with the lines, and comparing them to the diagram when we noticed a couple were reversed. His car was quick, but it was DAMN fast once we got them right!!
