wrap the end in tape and cut using a sharp saw to prevent from fraying. Take off the tape and put some oil on the end of the line and also inside the red fitting. Should go in a lot easier with the oil.

Wrap ductap around the end of the braided hose, then take a hacksaw and cut off about 1/4" to 1/2" of the tube. When your hacking it off, cut in the middle of the duct tape, this will prevent the braids from fraying and enlarging. Once you have cut the hose leave the duct tape on it then slide the aluminum fitting over before you take the tape off. You can then screw it onto the other fitting.

^ yup, tape and a thin cut off wheel on a right angle grinder or a very sharp chisel and a big hammer work very well i usually use a little motor and make sure the threads are clean when you torque it down. having a vise helps too

I've tried it using a dremel cut-off disk and hacksaw. Both didn't work at all for me. Frayed the outer braid too much and kept sticking me in the finger tips. Lots of ouches.
We switched over to using a huge hose cutter that looks like an overgrown chain link cutter. It cuts it true every time. Hell, we use it for everything now...cutting braided hose, coolant hose, and opening beer bottles. Pimp ****.
Anyways, if you still haven't got it down by the time I get up there to take care of Robbie's car, PM me and I'll bring the cutter and an extra 12" section of -10AN line. It'll be Thursday or Friday that I'll be in the Nati.

It's obvisous to me that you are not yelling, cussing and throwing things enough. I have found that these three things help the ends to go on more smoothly.
