Default Built b16 turbo problem

I got a 82mm Dart sleeved b16 motor. Stock b16 head with itr cams. I'm running an AFI turbo kit AC ranhorn with a full 3 inch exhaust. Its got a Garrett T3/T04E 57 trim. 2 inch hotside piping and 2.5 cold side pipe. My question is, when it was tuned it did 280@10 psi and 375@15 psi. But anytime was went over 16psi we started losing power. I'm trying to figure out if its the small intercooler or the 2 inch hotside pipe. If anyone had any input please let me know.

Thanks alot Chris

I had this similar problem i just cant make my car make any more boost past 16psi, I just assumed it was the turbo reaching its limits..

It's not the turbo. The turbo is good for 400-450 and somewhat over 20 psi. Did the car not make any more power or the gains per psi of boost weren't much? What's the full setup down to the last everything. Exhaust size turbine housing size. How much of the charge pipin is 2"

What brand/size intercooler? What were the IAT's at when you started dropped power?

Its a Garrett T3/TO4E 57 trim. Its a full AFI ram horn ac kit. Full 3 inch exhaust and dp. Its only 2 inch piping from the turbo to the ic. I believe its a .62 a/r exhaust housing. Anything over 16 psi it would start to lose power.

Its kinda a small ic. Buts the ic that comes with the AFI kit. The IATs were around 126-135

Sell it, it's FWD and therefore worthless.

Intake temps are higher than I'd lik to see that's for sure. Is the whole charge piping 2" or just the hotside? I run 2" just off the turbo for fit ent issues which is about 9 inches then go right to 2.5 the rest of the way. I believe with 2" your reaching or surpassing recomended Mach air speed inside the charge piping by running alot more boost. Try a larger hotside

It should be ok but try larger. The intercooler is probably to small and those intake temps will reduce power production. Plus the ic maybe be restricting
