Default will a b16 handle a t20

Like what it says, i have a B16 stock. I plan on going turbo, i was planning on using a t3/4. I got a really good deal on a garrett t20 turbo rebuilt and i was wondering if i should take advantage of the offer, or get a t3/4. Will a stock b16 be able to handle a t20??

T20?? As in smaller than a T25? Umm yea, the B16 will have no problems at all but are you really sure you want to use that small of a turbo? I'd find it hard to believe that it would be efficient at ~8000rpm and I find it even harder to believe that it will give any worth while added whp.

it would be more work to find a mani with the right flange than its worth.

They say ~15% less power from a T20 than a T25. I'll let you think about this rhetorical question: What does 15% less from not enough get you??

My guess is you'd make no more power with a T20 on a stock b16 than you would from an NA b16 with itr cams. You'd get serious low-mid range with the T20, but you'd need an LS trans to get any traction. It would probably be able to spin the tires early, but hook back up as it falls on its face when vtec hits.

BTW T20 uses the common T2 flange (T20/T25/T28), or at least the off the shelf version does. Greddy/HKS manis use that flange.

ok, I thought a t20 was bigger than t3/4. So I should ditch the whole t20 idea and go t3/4? Im looking for mid and Top end power. What turbo would be satisfactory for me in this case?

There is no reason to spend that much money on either of those turbos on a stock block B16....you would never reach the efficiency range of the turbo. You would be just fine w/ a standard T3/T04 or a standard bearing GT series...i'm using the latter on my stock GSR
