breaking in a turbo
cold idle oil pressure ~ 60psi
cold running oil pressure ~ 80-100psi (*i try not to do this at all...but it happens)
warm idle oil pressure ~ 20-25psi (depending on heat/temp)
warm running oil pressure ~ 40-60 (*depending on rpm.)
From what I can remember from my neon...its been a while since it last ran.

I know mine isn't normal, i don't know what's up with it. It's untuned, but it still shouldn't be going that high.
My '90 Integra cold starting stock would be around 2,000rpms, my first Rx-7 stock would idle up to about 3,000-4,000 (i can't remember, it was something really high, but normal) before dropping, i don't remember what my Civic was, it's been a few years since it's been stock. I will correct myself and say it's more like 2,000rpms that's typical rather than making an average of 2,500rpms because Rx-7's are weird.
I'm talking about the few seconds right when you turn it on, not when it starts coming down.

my car doesn't do that ^ maybe you should take your foot off of the gas when you start your car....it doesn't need to be primed y0. we have fuel injectors now
not carbs.

you should check for vacuum leaks and see what your iac duty cycle is set at if you have engine management...... of corse the oil pressure will be much higher if the motor is idling at 3 grand ....thats 3 times what it should be idling at

since your oil pump is run by the timing belt...and this belt is connected to your water pump gear(among other things..cam gear(s), idler, tensioner, etc.)....which is connected to your crank...which spins.... lol It makes sense that your oil pressure/volume would increase as your rpms increade. See? Its called a direct correlation.
your car shouldn't do what its doing.

A B-motor Vtec oil pump .. DOES repeat.. Does.. make 75 to 85 PSI on a cold startup.... and drops as it warms up .
how many people need to say it for it to be true....
Honda-tech.. is more like... Honda-lies.com..
I remember this site about 3 years ago.. when you could come on here and actually find a answer for a question.. .. instead of hate.

3 times? I've never seen a car cold start at 1,000rpms.
Even when my car cold started around 2,000rpms and on worn out main bearings (so much like i said i had 0psi at warm idle), my oil pressure would still be 75psi cold start.
I've replaced the oil pump and replaced all bearings since then, 80psi is friggin' normal for cold start-up, deal with it.
I'll mess with the tune later, i have some other problems to take care of at the moment, like it not running due to a bad turbo.
Cold initial start-up, 2,000rpms is common, then it settles a few seconds later to 1,500. Every car i've owned does this atleast.

My engine idles at 2400rpm when cold.. It gets 70psi~ of oil pressure... Thats high for idle.. But thats my cold idle, hot idle is like 25psi.
If you dont believe me, ill make a vid.

This whole argument is redonkuluos.
1. Buy an oil pressure gauge
2. Know what your oil pressure is
3. Who cares what somebody thinks is normal idle pressure. as long as your not that much over 80 who gives a fukc.
