Default Boosting an LSVTEC?

Hey everyone i have a B18 block with a B16 head type r internals and a GSR ECU. I was just wondering how good it would be for my engine if i got it sleeved then turboed it the turbo kit would either be a drag kit or just a custom one but would it be safe to boost this engine? i am aware the compression is prob really high but even if it was sleeved and tuned properly how long do you think it would last on say 6-10 PSI for starters? just curious

It wont be any less safe than boosting anyother engine if its properly built.

Just out of curiosity, what pistons are you going with?

FYI: B18b sleeves are no weaker than b18c sleeves.

well right now i have ITR pistons in the future i'd prob get rid of them for something that can handle more boost but is that a good piston for boosting or not?

It all depends on your set up. If you are gonna sleeve the block I would go with a set of forged pistons and new rods. If you wanna keep the ITR pistons I really wouldnt boost it that high. There is a local guy that turboed his type r and at 5 psi he put down like 250 something. My advice would be to sleeve it and get some different pistons in there.

if you use the same pistons just get an inline pro or cometic headgasket to lower compression

ok so i decided ill prob. just get all new pistons, rods, and a new gasket but on the other hand lets talk some fuel management. What size injectors do you think would be best for a turbo lsvtec? then what type of computer for the management ive heard alot about the SAFC but how much better is a hondata then a SAFC?

I think you had better stick with Hondata. 550cc injectors. better research ALOT before you jump into anything...

I say keep your motor setup, swap pistons, rods, sleeves if u can get some 550's hondata tune and ull be happy and safe. I myself have thought about doinf that combo but if i did i would for sure du elike 9.1 9.5 compression, and for sure get some good beefy rods. to me my setp

i eventually wanna do is ls block/b20 block with pistons/rods, type R head(so i can rev a little higher and have a good flowing head, gsr tranny+ presicion turbo inline pro mani, damn here i go spending $ again.
