Default bore and new pistons

I have a f22b1 i plan on boosting here in a year or so. Im slowly taking steps to boost. My step i want to take is and sleaving, boring, and final honing to 86mm of my engine block. I also wanna get this rod and piston kit-

http://bisimoto.com/store/index.php?...roducts_id=311

So what im asking is this set up will be good for my future plan to boost? and will it be fine on my stock head until i have money to port my head.

Why don't you just bore the block? It already has iron sleeves. And yes this is a good combo for boosting, will be purchasing this later this year when bulding my B2.

nice and idk it kinda comes as a package with bisimoto plus sleaving will make sure everything holds up its and old engine. I just wanna make sure i dont buy this piston and rod kit and then it ends up no good for boost. Also pistons and cylinder size need to be identical correct? So if the pistons are 86mm the cylinders need to be bored to 86mm as well? i just wanna make sure im right cause im newer to this and dont wanna make a dumb mistake.

Having the block sleeved is a sound investment if you are looking at doing a solid boost build. Specially if you just want to start off with a small amount of power/boost and be able to go bigger down the road. having the work done to the block now. Will save you from having to rip everything apart again.

Yes you need to match your cylinder bore to each of the pistons.

Thank you ghost that was my theory behind sleaving and boring. And an 86mm bore of my cylinders would be perfect for the piston rod set i have linked above.

its just on the bisimot web site
http://bisimoto.com/store/index.php?...roducts_id=148

thats the sleaving and rough bore

http://bisimoto.com/store/index.php?...roducts_id=152

That final bore and hone so im not sure what type of sleeves

If you can find what kind of sleeving let me know i plan on doing the block by the end of summer head will be next step

Also ghost what do you mean by match to each of your piston all pistons are gonna be the same size right? its not like one is 86mm and the other 3 are something else.

Most places should measure each piston and match the bore to that. In a perfect world they would all be exactly the same diameter. We might only be talking about 0.001". This could make a difference in the final piston to cylinder wall clearance.

For example my pistons have a recommended piston to wall clearance of 0.003" and a final bore stated as 3.504"
Here are the measurements that I get from each piston.
Piston 1 = 3.501"
Piston 2 = 3.500"
Piston 3 = 3.499"
Piston 4 = 3.499"

If I went to the machine shop and said I want my final bore for all 4 cylinders to be 3.504" I would end up with 3 different piston to cylinder wall clearances.
Piston 1 = 0.003" spot on
Piston 2 = 0.004"
Piston 3 = 0.005" too much
Piston 4 = 0.005" too much

If I want to maintain a consistent 0.003" across the board. I will need to make slight adjustments between cylinders 2, 3 & 4. I know we are talking fractions of an inch. However, when it comes down to having an engine with tight clearances 0.001 (0.0005) are the numbers that what we need to be in the ball park.

To put this into perspective, the specs for the OEM cast piston to wall clearances are as follows.
New = 0.0008" - 0.0016"
Service limit 0.002"

Shops may just go ahead and bore all 4 cylinders out to 3.504 and call it a day. Then you could be left wondering why your number 3 & 4 pistons make a bit of noise even after the engine has warmed up.

If you are having all of your work done by Bisi I'm sure they will take care of this.

I do plan on doing this all through bisi cuase i know they do good work. When i send in my block i would call them and see if i could send in the pistons so they could be an exact match like you said. The pistons themselves are forged by bisi but just to make sure ill call them when the time comes. Thank you for answering all my questions. They all seem so dumb but they are things i would never know if i didnt ask.
