ok i just got done installing my drag kit on my stock b16 as well as my boost guage...im wondering when i should be experiencing full boost ( i heard 4500) and why i have to floor it to have my boost guage read boost...at idle the guage reads like 18 in Hg vaccuum and it doesnt even really read boost until like 5500 and only when i floor it...im guessing there is gotta be a leak somewhere and despite me hearing the BOV at lower rpm than 5500 its not all that loud...also i tapped my boost guage into the brake booster line, is that Ok, it should be right? ok well hopefully this is nothing serious and im going to keep looking for leaks.

 

ok, you wont be making boost at idle or under partial laod. only under high load situations (i.e accelerating and such)

sounds like you have a boost leak, check all of your piping connections.

 

how should i check for the leak because i checked all the connections while it was idleing...should i have someone rev it and just feel for air?

 

revving it wont help...you wont build boost that way with your set-up... You need to pressurize your piping and check for leaks that way. i found this link on another thread... it looks like it would work http://www.vfaq.com/mods/ICtester.html

 

Find your boost leak and let us know how hard it pulls.
