Default boost on stock injectors

i have heard that the car will leanout and not perform with stock injectors but my car is running clean with the stock injectors no breakin up or nothing. I am running 7 psi on my b16 right now and i just got my 450 dsm's so my qusetion is should I leave in my stock injectors or put in the 450's? are there any advantages or disadvantages?

BTW I am using a fmu for fuel management.

450's with the fmu will be too fat. if you use the fmu, you will need something like crome, hondata, uberdata, etc. but if 7 psi is all you are happy with you should be ok.

first off you have to see if the internals can handle it, then if you are goin that high, you will need crome, hondata, neptune, uberdata etc. to run the car properly.

lose the fmu, and get a real engine management. and you can't boost more than 11 psi without a 2 bar or a 3 bar map sensor.

good call forgot about the map
only lets you go to 11.2 psi.

yeah with the fmu at 15 psi you are looking at:
45 psi static + 10:1 rise x 15 psi = 195 psi your injectors will not open that high.

This is correct when a turbo is put on a stock car with NO engine management whatsoever.

This is because you are running an FMU, which is designed to be used with stock injectors. It raises the fuel pressure to add more fuel when in boost.

It's not about advantages or disadvantages. You cannot use 450s with an FMU period.

A totally stock B16 should only be boosted to 10 or 11 psi. Not so say many people go higher with success, because they have, I'm saying a boost novice sich as yourself should not go that high. It has also been mentioned about the stock map sensor going good to 11psi.

If you want to up the boost, you are going to have to do the following:

1. Remove the FMU
2. Install the 450's
3. Use that chipped ECU you have and get Uberdata or CROME and have someone who knows what they're doing give you hand making a basemap to control the 450's.

Good Luck

my motor has aftermarket low comp. pistons and rods so i know it can take more boost. I am not really familiar with that uberdata or crome thing. Plus where i live sux, no one chips or tunes around here so no one uses those things.

BTW my fmu is 12.1 not 10.1

if there is a complete write up on that uberdata thing can u lead me to it cause i would really like to understand it more.

Thanks
