boost spiking question
ive had my drag kit for abot 3 months now, it came with the deltagate, when i would go full throttle the wastegate would open at 6-7 lbs but would spike all the way to 15-18 lbs making the car "pop" and skip .., i thought it was the deltagate , so i bought a tial .45 bar, for about a day it would hould 7-9 lbs in every gear all the way to redline, then it started doing the same thing, ive checked my vaccum lines about a thousand times, its the drag gen 3 kit, any help would be greatly appreciated,

well, for one, drag manifold design does have tendencies to spike more than usual, due to the wastegate flange located on the a single runner. but at the very most, it shouldn;t spiked to more than 2-3 psi....given a cold temp on the intake air ( the colder the temp, the more prone for it to spike). back in the old days with the drag manifold and tial, I used to spike 1-2 psi at the most, maybe 2 psi at cold night
I'd double check the way you route your vaccum lines first, you may want to post how you run them, maybe then I cna give you some suggestion on re-routing it to make it more efficient...

the line that goes to the side of the tial comes straight off of the turbo , zip tied to the fan shroud, no kinks, no holes , nothing.

Just something to try:
Instead of running it off the turbo, you could try running it off a vacuum source from the intake manifold.... mine runs directly from the vacuum lines at the fuel pressure regulator to the side of the tial.... works great. The boost source on the side of the turbo is before the boost has hit the intercooler... the intercooler will drop the pressure (by cooling the air), which can effect something... try it out and let us know how it goes.

jonathan, hey its anthony, long time no talk. Are you still running the avc-r by any chance? The popping noise you hear at 18psi is probably detonation and the skipping is mis-fire when the engine is under heavy load.
hey whats up anthony, nah i sold the avcr when i got rid of the 95, hit me up on aim my sn is jonnysc20
any other ideas to get this thing to stop spiking so damn high??
