Default Boost Problem

I have a 2000 Si B16 with a drag gen 3 kit on it. I have been running it for the past 3 years with no problems. I just recently had the bolt for the turbo break off so i took the manifold and turbo off and put all new gaskets and bolts in the setup. I also just recnetly put a AEBS Intake on the car. My problem is this.

I have tried to set my boost level using the deltagate wastegate with the 7 psi spring. It will not move at all. the wierd thing is that it held at 7 psi for the last 3 years and now since i took everything apart, it wont ge below 11. Has anyone heard of the wastegates going bad? i took it apart and the spring is still in one piece and the gasket looks good. I have no idea what could be causeing this problem.

Thanks in Advance

well could it be a boost issue being that i changed out the intake manifold? bc i can hear the wastegate open right at 11 psi ?

sounds like unless your vac/press hose that operates the wastegate has a hole or got pinched off or disconnected somewhere then its the spring in the wastegate or the whole wastegate it self. if its opening at 11psi the exhaust pressure might be just over taking th gate and forcing it open, if your have a small exhaust side on your turbo. i would check the hose.

if your hose is in tack and hooked up, look into investing in a new spring or watse gate

where are you getting the boost signal from? its seems like too big of a coinsedence that the wastegate failed right when you decided to change your IM. i would check all the lines, are you using a boost controller at all?

i actually changed my vacuum reference off the turbo to the back of the intake manifold. Its actually the same piece of hose i use to go to my boost gauge too and that doesnt fluctuate at all so idk. And im not using a boost controller at all. im just running off the wastegate.

Try hooking the wastegate vacuum line directly to the compressor housing rather than letting it come from the intake manifold. Dont Tee anything off the line from the turbo to the wastegate. This might fix your problem. If that doesnt work, take apart the wastegate and inspect the skirt and housing for any cracks. If you still have no luck then a new Tial 38 mm gets my vote.

yeah if idle is weird after the IM install then you should check for vacuum leaks, i dunno much about the AEBS IMs but did you hook up the iacv and everything properly?
