Default A boost problem

Hey guys, i need a little help, i have an LS motor in my EG hatch, its turbo charged, my external wastegate came with a 7lb spring, i heard a rattling come from the wastegate and opened it up, after the wastegate was put back together and put back on the car ,it was boosting at 10lbs for some reason, its been about 2 months since this, now all of a sudden its boosting at like 13lbs, and my boost controller ( manual turbo smart ) wont drop or raise the boost, it never actual did, i heard of someone else having a similar problem with the boost raising, in the winter time only, i just want to know is this a realistic reason for my problem, or does anyone have any suggestions for me, any help would be greatly appreciated., thanks in advance

you need to rebuild your wastegate. youve either got a leak or a cracked spring

also possible. reason i say the gate is because its getting worse since he took it apart the first time.

I had the nut walk of the end of the threaded shaft on a WG once. It rattled too. So did the engine after it overboosted a la big time. The WG had given me 10 years of good service, prolly should have checked it sooner.

They are easy to r&r... I also drilled the threaded section and safety wired the end so the nut won't try that again!
