Ok this is the deal I have an ls turbo setup and about 2 months ago is was spiking to like 15 lbs well I found out that the wastegate was bad so I bought a brand new tial 38 mm last week with a 7 lbs spring and its creeping to 9 lbs. When I try to run out 3 gear the boost guage goes to 9 lbs but the car isnt going as fast as it should be. Ive replaced all of the vac. lines but it still creeps. Ive talked to everyone I could think and done research and no one seems to have any idea what it could be someone please help me. Thanks

Re: boost creep help me (night2)
where are you catching the boost signal? from the manifold or off of the compressor? just curious.

Just curious is this a pre fab kit or a custom kit?

I dont know a lot of the turbo setups people have a vac. line coming from the turbo but I dont have that.

Re: (night2)
if it were me, i would start there. every kit i have setup if it didnt have a nipple off of the compressor, i drill and tap one, and all the kits i have installed, havent had any creep issues.

that didnt help him at all.....
well yea like guy said either tap the turbo and go to ace hardware and pick up a 1/8" npt fiting and teflon it in there or if no tap a IC pipe close as u can to the turbo ... Id go with the turbo personally thats how my turbonetics is and have had no problems

Re: boost creep help me (night2)
i run a revhard manifold and a tial 38mm with no creeping issues. i have run vaccuum from the compressor and the manifold, both worked fine.

what is your complete setup? are you using a boost controller?

Re: (night2)
what pound spring do you have in the wastegate a 38 should be plenty big, also what kind of gauge are you running? I have seen autometers go bad a read off, I would go to a dyno one that reads boost like a dyno dynamics or other see if you are really getting creap and if so if you are losing power because of it, if you are losing power the extra boost could be messing with the a/fs which could in turn make the car feel slower.

Re: (Cprace1)
O maybe u are having a similar prob to me,.... jsut trying to help ok here goes: my wastegate dump is not on... (being fabed just lazy) and with it of it is a little slower when the hot burnt gasses rush back into compressor. when i had a dump on it it was smoother/faster...

Doesnt the Revhard kit have a poor wastegate placement?

Re: (JDMlyfestyle)
i believe you are thinking of the drag kit.

it looks like the revhard shares 1&2 where the drag only uses 1.

Re: (boostedcivicsir)
yeah the revhard isnt the "best" placement but better than drag.

like boostedcivicsir said it kinda shares 1&2. but i have never had any boost consistency issues on my sc34 at 7psi

Re: (dpetro1)
Interesting, so you do have a tial 38 on the car now correct and is it doing the same thing the old wastegate was doing?

i think the old wastegate was spiking while now he is just having a little bit of creep in the upper rpm's.

night2, what size exhaust are you running, i know big exhausts sometimes have creeping problems, i doubt thats it but im just throwing everything i can think of out there.

Re: (Cprace1)
my wastegate is on the other side pointing down on the downpipe, im running 2 and a half exhaust. And i do appreciate everyones suggestions i have been talking to some people and they say that its a fuel problem.

Re: (night2)
why would they think that a fuel issue would cause boost creep? its the wastegate's job to control boost and if your boost isnt consistent then something has to be going on with it. just to double check, you do have all the vaccuum lines on correctly right? (side port to intake manifold, top port open?) not to saying your an idiot or anything but **** happens. all banjo bolts are tight? what size line are you using?
