Boost!
Has anyone experienced or seen problems with the vortech kit for the 94-01 gs-r b18c1 motor? I am thinking of getting it. Is it possible to turn the supercharger itself and point it down to run an intercooler to help cool the air before it enters the intake manifold?
Thanks

i dont know if you can exactly turn the actual sc without major modification....one option you do have is to use the aftercooler available from vortech which sits between the sc, the tb, and the shocktower kinda. its air-to-water i believe.

Re: Boost! (keebler65)
Does anyone have any ideas on how to run the piping if I were to run an intercooler. Vortech does not make an aftercooler yet for the gs-r so I am out of luck unless I can use the b16a aftercooler. I was looking at one of the intercoolers with the inlet and outlet on the same side so the piping does not go all over the engine bay. Any ideas? Has anyone heard anything bad about the supercharger kit? How reliable is it to run 12psi daily driven?
Thanks

why not turbo? that vortec gsr only mustered up a 14.8 ... stock type r territory. i bet you would be happier with a turbo, imo

Re: Boost! (Civic420)
Yes, the aftercooler goes between the Supercharger and the Intake Manifold. IT is a air/water intercooler and there is a water cooler to cool the water so you can use it for daily driving. The Vortech Supercharger kit is by far the best supercharger you can get for the civic / integra. It offers you the option of an intercooler that would otherwise have to be very expensivelly designed to work with a jackson.
Hope this helps I'm goin to edit this post with a pic as soon as I find one.

Re: Boost! (Civic420)
I don't have an integra I have a 95 eg hatch with a gs-r in it. I have itr tranny, itr cams,sk2 im,dc 4-1 header,apex-i n1 catback with straight pipe. I think it will be a little quicker than the integra 1/4 mile times. After the 12lbs. pulley and the intercooler I hope to get near 285-295 @ the wheels if that is possible.

What are you talking about? You just clock the Sc'er so it points downwards...

i just think any product that gives 100+ hp claims and only take off .6 seconds on the 1/4 mile is ridiculous. i know many people who HAVENT been SC'd yet like the vortech SC better due to its hp gains..but i BELIEVE the JRSC gives u a better overall powerband..
*ahem*turbo*ahem* i mean, u get the cool spool up and blow off noises for free! u only get a little whine from the SC
