Just picked up a vortech supercharger without an aftercooler.
My questions are:
1. Besides running less power then one with an aftercooler are there any other negative effects?
2. Has anyone ever ran this kind of set up or even fabricated some sort of intercooler?

1: More conservative tuning is required on pump gas.
2: The basic kit doesn't come with an intercooler, so lots of people have run it, and lots of people have made custom intercooler setups.

rmc know whats up, but can I ask why you would run a Vortech kit without an intercooler or aftercooler? I always thought that the ability to run a cooler is what made this kit so ideal.

Sorry for the late reply, reason why I'm not running one was because I bought the kit that way. Also thinking that running without an intercooler or aftercooler would safe.
Here's a totally nuts 7 Laminova cored water to air one a friend and I built for a BMW M3 running a Vortech V7 Ysi. It's not running yet as there are some software issues regarding controlling cam timing but it's very close to getting going for testing.
We did the fabrication, all the plumbing (and very expensive it was) was done by the owner.
It was an interesting project seeing we are in Australia and the car and owner are in the USA but it all fitted neatly in the end.
