Icon2 Blox turbo manifold, drivers side compressor?

I would like to use a blox manifold for my low cost EG hatch B18a street build. I cant seem to find anyone that knows if you can mount a t3/t04 compressor housing towards the drivers side without having to notch the block when using this manifold. (yes, I've searched, but mabe I'm tard and can't find this) I want to mount the turbo like the picture (obviously this one is not a blox mani..but anyway), I have no A/C so it's not an issue, but I do intend to keep my P/S.

Has anyone used this manifold this way? If so, did it all fit ok...?

If you put the compressor on the driver side the turbo will be further away from the block and won't need anything done

Are you sure? Have you actually seen a BLOX manifold this way? Sorry to question you, but I don't want to order one up and have an issue...thanks for the quick response!!

Blox mani here, like turbo-Ls said with the comp. to the driver side the turbo stay away from the block. I use in this form always with 3" inch downpipe and stock fan. Now I run a sc34E but I have a sc6162E without problem.

Sweet...I thought that's how it would be....I just wanted to check it out for sure first. Thanks for the quick input you guys!! Hey Turbo LS...I see you are a Neptune RTP tuner...any good basemaps for me to start tuning with? Or should I just make my own....I'm using a stock LS motor and trans with a turbonetics t3/T04b with a .48 A/R stage 2 hot side...All I want is enouph power to get a 12.?? out of my 95 EG Si with slicks. (Mabe 250 whp?) This will be my daily...

go BIGGER hot side. .63 is a MUCH better choice. IMO

The reason I went with the .48 stage 2 instead of .63 is...I had this turbo on my last B16a (stock) and it spooled just a little bit later than I wanted it to for the street. The way I figure it, this should spool a little bit earlier on the B18a and this turbo will support more power that this motor could dependably handle anyway....Just looking for a good compromise...I just hope it's not a little small when I get up to the rev limit, but I think I'll be ok...I already have the snail in my hand, so I can't go back now...

Never had a problem with my B16 with the .48 stg2, pulled all the way to 8600...you really think this will be that big of a problem with the LS? This is a totally stock motor I'm working with...and the LS has a lower rev limit...

well to put in perspective the ls that was in my hatch before going gsr, was a 200+k mile junk yard ls (100% stock minus arp's/404 cams) ran a custom wheel 35r .63 hit side made 32x whp at 12psi. full boost by 36/3800rpm's and only ran of trans (gearing) not engine. BEAT the **** out of it yrs and still ran for a yr after i got it. so i PERSONALLY think .63 is the best everyday turbo honda hot side.

It will rev out but its not going to make as much too end power and torque will fall off sooner with the .48 housing. I'm not saying these things for the heck of it. Lol

Oh...I believe you for sure..espessially since you are a tuner and its sounds like you've spent your fair share of time at a dyno...but, like I said, I've already got the turbo, so if I'm not happy, I will have to sell it off and get a bigger hot side...or change the housing...As long as I can get a 12 something out of the car on slicks I will be happy. (shouldn't be too hard) I street tuned my last setup on a B16 and got 12.60's out of it, and put 40k miles on it with no issues. Damn...I never should have sold that car!

If your running good motor mounts it will Be fine. Some people have issues with we hitting the good under a load. The .48 will make power and you can run a 12 no problem the .63 will just make power up top. You can buy just a housing and put that on your current turbo. What cams are you running in that motor?

Bone stock...well, new mounts, timing belt and w/p when put in, and moroso oil pan. All the relevant stuff is stock...JDM motor if that really even matters...

You really should at least get the inserts. All five mounts would be best

We'll do, gotta few more parts to get together still, so I'll order that too. Back in the day, I was one of those cheap bastards that did the window weld fill thing...lol, worked great, but looked like ****...

Are you running a 5 bolt or 4 bolt turbo? Because I thought this cast manifold was designed to be used with a 5 bolt?

Sounds like you'll have a fun little street car when it's done.

It doesn't matter what turbine housing he is running if putting the compressor on the driver side

I have problems at first with the top fitting of the wastegate hitting my hood, after I put the innovative 85a mounts the problem gone. By the way if you run from the spring or manual boost controller you don't need the top fitting, so I belive with stock mounts with inserts it's just fine.
