Default blown head gasket @15psi

well, it was a sad day yesterday on the dyno jet. a few days ago my tuner was able to get 270 hp @ 7psi on my partial built gsr turbo. (pistons, head work & mild block work..no sleeves) 3" dp and exhaust on uberdata. but yesterday we were trying to go 11psi but somehow my stupid charge pipes/ic pipes kept blowing off around 4k rpm so i ran down to NAPA and got some $4 bolt clamps and clamped those suckas down... just then they went at the dyno again but this time the driver said that boost slowly climed to around 7psi and then jumped fast to 15psi, he then let off the gas, thats when white smoke came out of my exhaust and the engine bay area, i noticed my top radiator hose blew up from the connection onto the radiator area and coolant splattered everywhere. the driver turned off the engine and then we let it cooled w/ fans and saw that cylinder 1 and 3 had blown headgasket.
My tuner suspects that since my profec b 1 boost controller was OFF theres no way the car could have boost that much unless the wastegate was somehow jammed. and because i had a shitttty deltagate wastegate maybe that was the problem. all my vaccum lines were still intact.
Does anyone here think it was my deltagate that messed up? I have a tial wastegate on now. My tuner's had the local NAPA shop around the corner bring by a new headgasket. And do you think my head may be warped? Will the NAPA headgasket hold? I offered to get a HONDA headgasket but he said NAPAs pretty good too and since they'r just a block around the corner its easier.

help, thanks

i'm hoping for the best. after that happened yesterday at the shop, i left so hopefully my tuner has already taken the head off to see exactly what the problem is.

yikes. i had similar symptoms and i'm waiting to find to my shop take the top off and see what went wrong. i was boosting ~8psi with a stock JDM b18c1 and brand new turbo setup w/ tial wastegate and i'm planning to just replace pistons, rods and headgasket...now i'm wondering if i should resleeve the thing too just to be safe...

keep us posted on how it goes...

tisk tisk. What was the timing at 15PSI? Shoulda been ultra conservative so that if you do spike nothing radical happens. Damn 2 sleeves and a melted cylinder...wow. GL on the rebuild and hope to see it soon
