Default blockguard?

i see people using blockguards. what exactly does this do? how much do they run?

Its kind of a gasket like thing that goes into to th waterjackets to stablize the cylinder heads when on under boots..It stops the cylinders from moving or expanding too much under boost..it helps ...a little...but not under a lot of pressure.

I think a little more expanded explanation is a metal piece that turns your open deck honda block into a closed deck block. It does stop the tops of the cylinders from moving at high boost / high horsepower, but the key to sucess with these things. They need to be professionally intalled. They need to be welded in and then the block needs to be milled. Otherwise they're probably cause more problems than protection.
